Donation Page - Overview

The Donation Page is where donors are directed to make their gift. It is a critical piece of the donor journey, in terms of design and functionality, used to steward donors towards making their gift to your campaign (or sub-campaign!). It also allows you to collect vital information about your donors that can be used to create reports and to gain a deeper understanding of your community. This information can then be analysed to create even stronger campaigns, year on year. The sections of the Donation Page are described in more detail below.

Currencies

Single or Multiple Currencies can be supported on the Donation Page:

• Single - one Stripe account connected . - GBP, USD, CHF (we support most currencies) 
• Multiple Currencies -  either via two Stripe accounts - GBP & USD, CHF and GBP or  one  Stripe account and external links that redirect your own pages.

Gift Amounts  

The default amounts are: £25, £100, £250 and £500. Alternatively, you can provide your own four gift amount options.

Pre-selected Amount

By default, the pre-selected (highlighted) amount is £1. However, we recommend having a conversation with your team to decide what your pre-selected amount should be. This can vary greatly by campaign and sub-campaign. In general, donors will often gravitate towards choosing the pre-selected amount. Therefore, we usually recommend designating the amount you would like donors to give as the pre-selected amount. 

Minimum Donation

By default the minimum donation on the site is £1, however, you can change this to something else i.e £5. This means that donor’s won’t be able to make a donation for less than the minimum donation enabled.

Direct Debits  

• Start date - this indicates when the donor's donation will begin
• Frequency - 'Monthly', 'Quarterly' or 'Yearly' (these are default settings and cannot be changed)
• Duration - donors can select between 'Until Further Notice' or '6 months', '1 year', '2 years' etc.

Designation of Funds 

This drop down can either be added to all projects or only to certain projects. For example, a 'Sports Project' could have the designations: Football, Hockey and Swimming 

Gift Visibility

There are 3 options donors can choose between:

• Show Name and Amount  
• Show Name only 
• Anonymous  

Relationship Options   

The default options are listed below, however you are free to add/replace your own options.

• Alumni
• Parents
• Students
• Faculty 
• Friends

Donors can select either one or multiple relationships, however they will not be able to select the options Students and Alumni at the same time. This is because only one year can be selected for either a current student or an alumnus.

For anyone selecting Student or Alumni, we can enable Graduation year, Matriculation year or Leaving year. 

In similar fashion, a custom drop-down can also be added that gives Alumni or Students the possibility to select their college or house affiliation. 

Your Details 

The default details settings request the information listed below:

• First Name
• Last Name
• Title (optional) 
• Email address
• Country 
• Address Line 1
• Address Line 2
• City/Town
• Postcode
• Phone number

 

Note there is an optional setting to include:

• Title

Please note, the form uses geo detection and dynamically picks what country the donor is based in depending on their IP address. 

Notifications

This is how the GDPR notification section appears, and the default text we offer is:

We’d love to keep in touch with you via email. Are you happy for us to use your email address to keep you updated on news, events and campaigns?

        Yes                 No 

You may change this text to suit your own needs, however, the question must provide the donor with a Yes or No response to choose between.

Donor message

Donors now have the option to leave a message that will be displayed on the donor wall.

Gift Aid 

The default Gift Aid text we offer is as below, however you may change this text to suit your own needs:

I confirm I have paid, or will pay, in the UK an amount of Income or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all of the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand that other taxes do not qualify.

Payment Details

This is the Stripe/Paypal donation box where donors will need to enter their card details. The design of the box cannot be changed as this is given by the payments provider, and appears as below:
